A-C Player

A-game
The game with the highest stakes in the house.
Bet the Raise
The maximum bet would be twice the value of the raise or bet made previously
Betting Interval

Brush
An employee of the card room who is responsible for seating list management
Closed Hand
The cards concealed in a player’s hand like in draw poker
Closed Poker

Crisscross
Similar to Southern Cross but in this game five cards would be laid out and the one in center would be wild.
Crooked-Honest System (C-H System)
The technique of two players who cheat: One player who gets a strong hand, he would then signal the other player to raise the hand, and in this way they would squeeze all the other callers (Cross Life, Crossfire).
Dig
To replenish a player’s stake or chips while playing a particular hand.
Discard
During a twist or a draw in a game, exchanging old cards for new ones
English Poker
A Draw game played using a blind opening.
English Stud
A stud game that has a draw
Fatten
The process of increasing the chips in the pot (Sweeten).
Favorite
A hand which is expected to win the pot very often.
Flip Stud
A Five-card stud game where the optional hole card and all cards matching to it are wild.
Floorman
(1) The manager of a Card room (2) The boss of a shift in a casino
Gang Cheating
Two players or more who get together for cheating
Gap
The missing card which is required to make a straight.
House
A person or an organization that runs poker games for their profit
House Cut
The amount which the casino, club or the house cuts from pots
Idle Card
A card which does not add any value to a hand.

Knock
To check a hand or to pass by knocking the table
Lay Down
The act of showing the hands after the final bet.

Luck
An illusion which is not a statistical fact about winning or losing
Luck Out
The act of beating a strong hand
Mechanic
A dealer who cheats in the game by manipulating the deck of cards.
Mechanic's Grip
A special way used by cheating players to hold a deck for dealing.
Overcall
The act of calling a large bet after the opponents have called.
Overcard
A card which is higher compared to other cards showing.
